Wearin: James Perse maxi dress, Silence + Noise faux leather jacket, Miss Me strappy wedges
… but this baby palm tree will suffice. I went on a lovely dinner date with my beau to Tokyo Table in Irvine, so I decided to dress up a bit. Even though I’m wearing a maxi dress, it’s totally casual and soo comfortable. (My boyfriend thought I was over-dressed just because I was wearing a long dress)!! I love this James Perse maxi dress, it’s so soft and light weight. The blurred colors are more of an update to tie dye. I still love tie dye though, it makes me happy. Purchasing this dress was a bit of a stretch in the old pocket book, but it was also my first maxi dress! I’ve always loved the easy-chic look of it, but I could never find one that was flattering on my 5′4″ frame. The dress isn’t over-powering nor does it make me look ginormous. Totally worth it!!

p.s. Tokyo Table is one of my favorite restaurants! I’m still drooling about the dinner I had: sushi pizza, garlic tuna, bimibap, honey toast with 4 scoops of ice cream!! yummmm.
I love this dress. You look so cute! I’ve been looking for a good maxi dress too, I can never find one that’s flattering. I always feel like I would look way too dressed up in one, but whenever I see another girl in one, they always look fresh and casual.
I think I almost bought this same James Perse dress, but it was plain black, they didn’t have this cool gray you’re wearing. The black was just too much.
hi emily!!! i got this dress at bloomies during their private sale. i agree, it’s hard to find a good maxi dress- kind of like finding a good fitting pair of jeans. but, once you do, it’s like heaven (maybe i’m exaggerating)!! i have a co-worker who’s tall, and she has this super cute black maxi dress that has a v-neck line, sleeveless, i think the straps are braided, is fitted only around the boobies, and she looks amazing in it! she got it at one of those cheapy boutiques for only $15!!
