For the last couple of days it’s been raining non-stop here in Long Beach, CA. Never have I ever withnessed so much rainfall in my whole entire life! I’ve been so scared to drive to and from work because of all the floods. I already consider myself a horrible driver and adding thunderstorms into the equation–the numbers aren’t looking good at all. The weather has been so crazy that there is even a section in the LA Times about the recent storms in long beach. When it rains all I want to do is stay in, keep warm, and read in bed. In the photos above I’m wearing a Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent grey merino wool sweater I bought on sale at bloomies, forever21 shorts, and LAMB heels. In the midst of all this rain all I’ve been thinking about is shopping for a nice big umbrella and some fun rain boots. But, I’m sick of staying in and definitely ready for the rain to go away.

Last weekend, Jun and I were invited to the Swagg launch party held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.  We attended the party at Body English followed by a private performance at The Joint with Kid Rock.  Swagg hooked our rooms up with a bottle of champagne and some Kiehl’s products… a very rock n’ roll event!  I’m really excited for the Swagg application to come out so I can manage the way I spend better!  I also met fellow bloggers and shopping enthusiasts, Jenny and Ashley from The Mad Grad!  Hope to attend another Swagg launch party and test out the app when it comes out the end of the year!!

I can’t wait to get a pair. It just doesn’t seem like the right time to purchase them–considering that it’s been <100 degrees the pass couple of days in So Cal and the fact that I’m volunteering for the government! Nevertheless, I’m still keeping my eyes open for the perfect pair. I’ve visited these pair of Convertible Over The Knee Boot everyday on www.freepeople.com for the past couple weeks and I think they’re worth it…

Kat, Teresa (Kat’s lil sis) and I went to the Fairfax Flea Market last Sunday.  It was a really nice day to shop around, but I ran out of gas fast on my bargain hunting adventure.  It takes a lot of dedication and good haggling skills to find some amazingly inexpensive pieces there.  I almost left with nothing, but as we were on our way out, I just couldn’t stop thinking about this beautiful crochet Bali top.  It caught my eye right away, but the $60 price tag was not the usual flea market price and made me turn the other way.  Well, after fantasizing over the top I just had to get it and luckily, the seller was willing to give me a deal!!  Now it’s mine forever!

After the Fairfax Flea Market we strolled around Melrose stopping by trade-in stores like Wasteland and Crossroads.  No luck there… .  I will definitely have to set up another fun in the sun vintage shopping extravaganza with my surrogate sisters, Kat and Teresa.  .  Love!

I was reading the Free People blog and I saw these hilarious pictures of people wearing hand-printed hooded sweatshirts made by Clinton van Gemert in NYC.  Apparently, the idea came about off a coffee buzz and now he’s made it into a one-man show.  I really like the Audrey Hepburn hoodie or the crying baby hoodie (so me).  They’re about $50 a piece and really funny.  It’s perfect for those moments when you want to be disengaged from the world, but not taken too seriously either.  Ok, it’s final, the pink crying baby hoodie in xs is now on my wish-list.

It seems as though these floral prints are channeling pop art’s Andy Warhol “Flowers” (1964-1970):

It’s redundant to say, floral prints are big for spring, because they show up every year around this time.  But, I am diggin these bright, abstract florals that give this feminine style a bit of an edge.  The Shoshanna romper and See by Chloe dress remind me of 80’s punk with their colorful flowers on a black canvas.  It’s loud and gaudy- just like 80’s fashion.  The Diane von Furstenberg cover-up and bikini are straight derivatives from Andy Warhol’s artwork, so it’s like wearable pop art.  Who wouldn’t like that??

I found this silver Madison Marcus dress on sale at Bloomingdales about a year ago for a deal I couldn’t pass up. I thought it would be a perfect New Years dress but I ending up finding a different dress. So…here I finally got the opportunity to wear it for you! I was having a little too much fun and thought I’d accent the outfit by complementing it with my wonderful chanel belt. I think the dress would look so much better if it was shorter.

I can finally wear flip flops and sandals to work, so now I’m looking for some cute and comfortable sandals to strut around in.  I’m coveting these fringed, studded, buckled, and recycled sandals from Free People.  I’m totally diggin’ the rice paper sandals that are made from recycled rice, detergent and storage bags.  I love that Free People selected cute sandals that help save the environment and each pair is different since it’s made from recycled materials.  It’s so hard to choose, I want to buy them all!!
