this vest drew me in because the texture reminded me of shredded coconut.  i recently got over a kidney infection and my mom had me drink a lot of fresh coconut juice.  i’m not complaining because it was delicious and i think this ancient cambodian remedy helped me get better (along with antibiotics from my doctor).  i got this obnoxiously trendy faux fur vest at the uber obnoxious forever 21.  yes, i went there, i couldn’t resist purchasing this vest.  someone asked me the other day if they could wear white year round.  i don’t see why not because we live in socal and can get away with a lot of things, like wearing flip flops in the rain.  i wouldn’t recommend the latter, though.  anyway, i really felt like a Mongolian ice princess in this outfit and i loved it!  i got this awesome chain bracelet from free people.  i was inspired by this accessory when my bff, kim t.v., got me a souvenir beaded bracelet from egypt.  i stalked this particular fp chain bracelet down and made sure it was coming home with me!

This week I went up to the San Francisco Bay area to help Jun move to Mountain View.  We took the 101, in lieu of the 5, all the way up for a more scenic route and it was quite beautiful.  Living in a gray city, I tend to forget how lush and green California really is!  While driving by the Santa Barbara beaches alls I could hear was Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry.”  We saw herds of cows grazing and a few lazy ones resting along the freeway.  We vehemently argued over our children’s names.  I would like Olivia or Moon for a girl and Elliot for a boy.  Jun prefers African/Lion King inspired names like Simba.  We did come to a compromise- I’ll choose one name and one middle name and he’ll do the same.  After 7 hours, including a pit stop for brunch at Tupelo Junction Cafe in SB, we finally arrived to our destination.

It seemed like our little road trip and my time in Mountain View went by too fast.  But, I know I’ll be visiting soon and exploring the Bay area with my Jun!!

It doesn’t take much to make me a happy girlfriend (according to friends).  My boyfriend recently told me he would take me on a shopping spree, I was ecstatic!  He said a shopping spree of 1 item, I jumped for joy, only in expression as I was driving during this conversation, and I screamed for a new purse.  Then he said I had a budget of $100, I squirmed in my little leatherette seat.  I mean, I’ve never been taken on a shopping spree by a boy before, let alone offered one for $100!  I’m a budget shopper, 100 Washingtons can get me a long way.  The next day we set out on our shopping spree to South Coast Plaza.  I soon realized that if I had 9 more of these shopping sprees I could get a pair of Marni heels.  I also realized that you can’t go budget shopping and search through racks with an impatient boyfriend.  Therefore, SCP was completely the wrong mall demographic for a budget shopping spree.  We ended up going to Costco and buying movie tickets and coffee gift cards.  We also shared a polish hot dog and a sundae.  There goes my shopping spree spent on food and a month’s supply of Coffee Bean drinks.  Nevertheless, my boyfriend is the BEST and according to me, it’s the thought that counts!!

I went on my very first acting gig today!!  It was pretty damn awesome!  I played a rocker girl at a heavy metal tailgate party (spoof on an 80s documentary), so alls I had to do was act like a drunk slut!!  It was a bit of a stretch for my acting, but I think I pulled it off well.  =)  I wore this outfit which is the same outfit I wore to the audition because the producers liked it and wanted me to wear it to the shoot.  They couldn’t have white tees on camera, so wardrobe gave me a silver cropped halter top.  The metallic halter changed my character from ‘cute rocker girl’ to ’stripper rocker girl who sleeps with the band’.  Way better!!!  I was out in the sun all day so now I’m exhausted and I have weird tan lines.  eeeek.  Either way, I had so much fun and want to do it again!!

Wearin: James Perse maxi dress, Silence + Noise faux leather jacket, Miss Me strappy wedges

… but this baby palm tree will suffice.  I went on a lovely dinner date with my beau to Tokyo Table in Irvine, so I decided to dress up a bit.  Even though I’m wearing a maxi dress, it’s totally casual and soo comfortable.  (My boyfriend thought I was over-dressed just because I was wearing a long dress)!!  I love this James Perse maxi dress, it’s so soft and light weight.  The blurred colors are more of an update to tie dye.  I still love tie dye though, it makes me happy.  Purchasing this dress was a bit of a stretch in the old pocket book, but it was also my first maxi dress!  I’ve always loved the easy-chic look of it, but I could never find one that was flattering on my 5′4″ frame.  The dress isn’t over-powering nor does it make me look ginormous.  Totally worth it!!

p.s. Tokyo Table is one of my favorite restaurants!  I’m still drooling about the dinner I had: sushi pizza, garlic tuna, bimibap, honey toast with 4 scoops of ice cream!!  yummmm.

I don’t wear my Converse high tops enough, but when I do I fall in love again.  These shoes have been with me through a lot, especially, in high school on a trip to TJ for a weekend.  Poor shoes had to walk/swim through the alcoholic sewage on club floors flooded with cheap drinks and only god knows what.  I gave them a good scrubbing, but they’ve never been the same.  I purchased this Do It Myself tank at the Buffalo Exchange in Westwood.  I was attracted to the knots sewn to the back shoulders, they’re textured like thin mop heads.  I had been eyeing these Siwy jeans for a really long time.  I couldn’t muster up the $197 for a pair of distressed jeans, consequently, I did it myself with a seam ripper and a washing machine.
