gone awry

This week I went up to the San Francisco Bay area to help Jun move to Mountain View.  We took the 101, in lieu of the 5, all the way up for a more scenic route and it was quite beautiful.  Living in a gray city, I tend to forget how lush and green California really is!  While driving by the Santa Barbara beaches alls I could hear was Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry.”  We saw herds of cows grazing and a few lazy ones resting along the freeway.  We vehemently argued over our children’s names.  I would like Olivia or Moon for a girl and Elliot for a boy.  Jun prefers African/Lion King inspired names like Simba.  We did come to a compromise- I’ll choose one name and one middle name and he’ll do the same.  After 7 hours, including a pit stop for brunch at Tupelo Junction Cafe in SB, we finally arrived to our destination.

It seemed like our little road trip and my time in Mountain View went by too fast.  But, I know I’ll be visiting soon and exploring the Bay area with my Jun!!

Rain Rain go away!

For the last couple of days it’s been raining non-stop here in Long Beach, CA. Never have I ever withnessed so much rainfall in my whole entire life! I’ve been so scared to drive to and from work because of all the floods. I already consider myself a horrible driver and adding thunderstorms into the equation–the numbers aren’t looking good at all. The weather has been so crazy that there is even a section in the LA Times about the recent storms in long beach. When it rains all I want to do is stay in, keep warm, and read in bed. In the photos above I’m wearing a Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent grey merino wool sweater I bought on sale at bloomies, forever21 shorts, and LAMB heels. In the midst of all this rain all I’ve been thinking about is shopping for a nice big umbrella and some fun rain boots. But, I’m sick of staying in and definitely ready for the rain to go away.

rhinestones and swagg

Last weekend, Jun and I were invited to the Swagg launch party held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.  We attended the party at Body English followed by a private performance at The Joint with Kid Rock.  Swagg hooked our rooms up with a bottle of champagne and some Kiehl’s products… a very rock n’ roll event!  I’m really excited for the Swagg application to come out so I can manage the way I spend better!  I also met fellow bloggers and shopping enthusiasts, Jenny and Ashley from The Mad Grad!  Hope to attend another Swagg launch party and test out the app when it comes out the end of the year!!

On me: Madison Marcus embellished blazer, Kain Label top, Free People mini skirt, Stuart Weitzman booties

I hope everyone had a nice holiday and got what you wanted!  I got some cash, so maybe I’ll invest in this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag I want.  I realized Christmas gets less exciting when surrounded by adults, because instead of being solely the gift getter you become the gift giver, too.  Yea, it still makes you feel good inside, but I miss the anxiousness of opening Christmas gifts.  I did, however, get an IOU from a family member… nice touch bro.

Have a safe and happy new year!

Abbey Lee Kershaw looks stunning and frickin adorable in these photos inspired by the fantasy movie, Where The Wild Things Are.  I love all the layers, textures, fur, thigh-high boots, and horns she’s wearing.  It makes me want to have an adventure in the woods, but if only I could be this fashionable.  I still haven’t seen the movie and I’ve been begging my boyfriend to take me, but most of the movie times are in the early afternoon.  Hopefully, we can go in the midst of this crazy shopping weekend.  I just started on my holiday wishlist and now I get to have some real fun with the extravagant (if you really, really love me and are rich) section.  For now, just wishin’ it was a little colder here in SoCal so I can bundle up…

walking monster

Here I am rushing to walk my little pup, Monster, before going to a wedding reception. This is one of the few times when I actually get to wear some of my dresses out rather than trying them on and comtemplating when I can actually wear them. Here, I’m wearing a spanish inspired dress I got from Image, Report Signature Trudy Pumps, and accessorizing it with a necklace from Free People.

I’ve never been too fond of cold weather, rain and gloomy days, but this time around, I couldn’t wait for fall to get here soon enough!  I believe my dislike for fall stemmed from being in school, thus studying for midterms and writing 20-page reports.  Now, I can really enjoy all the little moments and relax at a bookstore while watching other students study for a dreaded calculus exam.  :P .   I’m excited for fall because of all the layering I will be doing!  I’ve got a couple key pieces like lace tops, tall boots, ankle booties, and tights I will be busting out of my hazardous closet.  No more bare legs and shoulders (unless it’s for a night-out)!! Woohoo!

go away sun!

Lately it’s been too hot! Ironic right? Most native Californians would never say that out loud. But I’ve been yearning for fall fashion! I can’t wait to accessorize myself with colorful scarf, head warmers, and especially cardigans! However, I’m also very excited for knee boots! They’re just so amazing and fun!

kate_moss_above_knee_boots[1]

I can’t wait to get a pair. It just doesn’t seem like the right time to purchase them–considering that it’s been <100 degrees the pass couple of days in So Cal and the fact that I’m volunteering for the government! Nevertheless, I’m still keeping my eyes open for the perfect pair. I’ve visited these pair of Convertible Over The Knee Boot everyday on www.freepeople.com for the past couple weeks and I think they’re worth it…

It’s been a while since we posted pictures, too long for my taste.  We got together in Westwood to start off our day of hunting and gathering.  We brunched at Novel Cafe and then sold some old clothes at Buffalo Exchange.  I usually have good luck at Buffalo Exchange, but this Sunday I didn’t find anything.  We later went to 2 Free People boutiques for some employee appreciation love!  I discovered Siwy Jeans fit amazingly, I like batwing tees, and even with a discount I still can’t afford sh!t.  I did purchase a professional stud setter from Urban and I’m ready to lay some studs on my denim.  Not a very thrilling day of shopping for girls on a budget, but Kat and I are so glad to be back!
